JFK IN THE MIKES LIBRARY

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (Mike Luke), the former president of USA visited our school library. Our well prepared ''journalists'' were waiting for him. He received many questions about his family, his death and about his external and internal policy.

FLAT BRIDGETTE

We received a beloved guest from the USA.

She is Flat Bridgette from Omaha.

She is painted by the readers of the Rose Hill Elementary School Library.

The Rose Hill students are very interested about, how the people live in the Land of Vampires. We present them our library, school and town. It's real profit for us, because we can show them our homeland as it is.

AMERICAN CORNER: WINTER SPORTS

Our new year activity started with the American Corner.
Mike Luke from Minnesota was our guest.
He was talking about the winter sports with our readers.
During the discussion we find out that the climate in Minnesota is almost the same as in Covasna County. It's very cold, and the favorite sport is hockey.
I was very happy that our students were talking in a very good English, even if the topic was so special, like winter sports.

GERMAN MARATHON READING

It becomes a tradition that the German language teachers together with our library, organize the Marathon.
We started since 2006, and become a custom, that in Christmas our students come and present short parts from their favorite books.
Each student read only 3 minutes, beceause there were more than 200 participants!
At the end each reader received a gift from our school library.
We think that it was a real success. We have a new record of participants! Our school library thanks to the teachers for the collaboration!

American Corner

On Thursday (11.12.2008) we started again the American Corner.

Our guest was Erin Aldrich, a Peace Corp volunteer in our county. She was discussing with our students about the Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We think that the American Corners organized in our library gives the opportunity for our kids to know better the culture of USA, and to practice the language with a native speaker.

And Erin was great! We hope that we shall collaborate with you in the future! Thank you!
And thank you for the English teachers, who help our library to organize this event!
