Hour of Code

The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. 15 million students worldwide learned an Hour of Code.

The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.
But without good reading skilIs our students can not do a really good job in computer programming.
That's why the Mikes Kelemen High school Library entered in the project.
-We want more! - the children enjoyed a lot the activity.
Thank you to Barabás Andrea, Kákay Csilla and Kerekes Gábor, our schoolmasters for cooperation!

WE ARE THE BEST!

Before the summer break, our school library awarded it's best readers.
From the I-IV. graders Németh Kevin (II. C) is the best, from V-VIII. graders Gergely Ágnes Renáta (V. A), and from IX-XII. graders Szabó Schuller Emőke (XI. C) read most.
It became a custom that the awards are not books, but pizzas.
The pizzas were handed to the students by the librarian, and served them in the most beautiful room of the school library.
The awards were sooooo biiig that the children invited their friends to help them to eat.
Many of the guests promised that next time will be they, who will win the prize!

We conquered the library!

At last, on 9th of Mai, our 1st grader students conquered the Mikes Kelemen High School Library!
They knew the most of the letters, that's why it wasn't any problem for them to become our readers when we celebrate the Europe Day.

During an interactive program our students met our library, the rules of the library, and they have the opportunity to show their reading skills. At the end of the program they lent books and received gifts from the librarian.

Our children were very happy that they become members of the Mikes Kelemen High School Library's reading community. We thank you to our schoolmasters Galaczi Olga, Dali Judit Zsuzsannna and Kelemen Aurelia for the cooperation!

International Book Giving Day

On February the 14th our library celebrated the  International Book Giving Day.
We offered more than 1000 books to our students.
The book were not new. We received them from our generous donors.
The Mikes Library kept a part, and for the other part we wanted a good place, which was the wish of the donors too.
At first we were afraid that we had to carry back all in the library.
Our doubt disappeared very soon.
Our children, and the teachers too, everybody got something for him.
Our gatekeeper too.
We finished in one hour!
