The Mikes Kelemen High School Library enjoys the Hungarian Teacher Librarian Association's initiative to celebrate the International School Library Month on the night of 24th of October. .
Our ''ingredient'' to this celebration was the dominoes made of books.
We established national records by using 712 books in the dominoe.
It was very hard, but the joy and the enthusiasm helps us to win.
We created a short videoclip which reflects the atmosphere of the event:

The Library is Ours!

At last, on 9th of Mai, our 1st grader students conquered the Mikes Kelemen High School Library!
They knew the most of the letters, that's why it wasn't any problem for them to become our readers when we celebrate the Europe Day.
During an interactive program our students met our library, the rules of the library, and they have the opportunity to show their reading skills. At the end of the program they lent books and received gifts from the librarian.
Our children were very happy that they become members of the Mikes Kelemen High School Library's reading community. We thank you to our schoolmasters Kákay Csilla, Zaláni Mária, Kató Zsuzsannna and Balogh László for the cooperation!

International Children's Book Day

Since 1967, on or around Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, 2 April, International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books.
This time our guests were the children from the Csipike Kindergarten.

We presented our library.
The children entered playing in the world of the library. Here they met not only poetry or novels, but big and small, heavy and light, old and new books too; the worn out books may contain usually the best stories and the new sometimes can offer disappointment.
The children were listening the librarian's tales in Romanian and Hungarian.
At the end every visitor received a sticker as a gift (I Love the Mikes Library)
The librarian promised that next time he will take his visitors to America on his magic tale carpet, if they will be studious in the school and will behave as good as now.
